Chiara
Chiara’s mom, Jenny, is a fine artist and muralist. She actually specializes in painting murals in nurseries/children’s bedrooms. She also happens to LOVE the color green, so it was no surprise to me when I showed up for the shoot that nearly everything she had on hand for our photo sessions was green green green! We took the photos at their home in Westchester and...

Brad and Mae
I’m sure I’ve said it a million times, but I love Maternity photo sessions. We took these photos at the family’s home on the Upper East Side before walking over to a small park by the East River. Although they’d probably tell you otherwise, they were both so natural in front of the camera. Just a few weeks until I get to go back and meet their little girl!

Maia
Maia was a delightful and very strong little girl. For being just one week old she could hold her head up and look around for what almost seemed to be indefinite period of time. She also has the most adorable dimple. She’s going to be trouble when she’s bigger - those huge smiles with great big dimples are completely irresistible.

Finn and Taylor
Big brother Finn was so sweet with his new brother Taylor. At less than 2, it’s hard to sit still and take photos with a tiny infant in your lap, but he was such a good listener. And Taylor - you just couldn’t ask for a sweeter little guy. He was so calm - for such a little guy he made great eye contact. He’s going to be a very kind, laid back little boy! We...

Knox Hats Revisted
My friend and fellow mom Julia Knox creates custom hats for kids and adults alike. Her hats are absolutely amazing, so I was really excited when she asked me to photograph her latest kids collection. With our little ones as the models we had a play date and took some fun photos. To see her full hat collection please visit knoxhatsrevisted.com or check out her etsy site Ant...

Alexa
There were seriously so many cute photos from Alexa’s photo shoot that trying to narrow them down took me forever, and I’m definitely putting way too many of them on the blog, but she was a star. Her mama’s milk must contain sedatives because she tolerated more outfit and position changes than any newborn I’ve met to date. I never even heard her whimper. It’s a good...

Avery
Avery is a little girl on the go! I knew from last year I’d be chasing her all over the place, but thankfully she runs with a smile on her face. We took her family photos in Washington Square Park. Sometimes this park can be really crowded, but we lucked out with a field to ourselves so we had plenty of room to move. It was a cold day, but even canine companion Fry did his best to smile.

James
A calm little guy, James slept through most of his photo session. We couldn’t figure out how to crank up the heat, so I was a little worried he might get uncomfortable since he was very tiny, but he just snoozed and snoozed. He had one tired mama though, who insisted that this good sleeping was only a day thing.

And then there was Imogen
I’ve photographed this beautiful family for the last several years and each year there seems to be a baby or a bump or another baby! You’d think photographing 4 kiddos would be a challenge, and normally it would be, but these guys are just so sweet and well-behaved that it’s a pleasure seeing them each year. And check out little Imogen, bright blue eyes and rich red hair, what a...

Sophia and Max
I love siblings who love each other and Sophia and Max just ooze love for one another. They play, they dance, they giggle, it’s just a joy to capture. I photographed their family at Madison Square Park and also at their home. These kids had enough energy for hours of photos, but so many smiles that the shoot flew by.

Lillian
Brace yourself, I’m not great at editing down adorable newborn photos to just a few selects. Lillian was an angel and photographing her was a pure delight. Most newborns require some soothing and feeding breaks, but not this one. Mom nursed her right before I arrived and for the next two hours she was perfect and sweet, asleep and awake. I tried to let her parents know just how lucky they...

Grace and Andrew
I’ve photographed this family a few times now, so I already knew how great they were. But on this shoot, at the East River Park, they were more than great, they were heroes. Mid-photo session a man about 15 feet away from us climbed over the railing and began to throw his personal items on the sidewalk as he prepped to throw himself into the river. Without hesitation the family called 911...

Sadie
I can hardly believe Sadie is a year old. If you scroll through the blog you can see her as a newborn and again at 6 months. Her personality as a sweet, calm, happy newborn carried through her first year. She and her family are simply a delight to be around - I might have smiled more than they did! We took these photos at Riverside Park and lucked out with a gorgeous day.

Ben
You just can’t beat Central Park as a backdrop for photos. It’s great in all seasons, but it really shines in the fall. Of course, adding an adorable family to a beautiful setting is an instant recipe for great photos!

Abby and Ellie
Abby and Ellie were so loving together. There’s just something about sisters - I think that bond starts at an early age. I had a wonderful time photographing their family in Central Park. Even though typically it would have been pretty cold, the mild winter we’re having made it easy to be jacket-free, and there were still loads of leaves on the ground.

Will
As always after the holidays, I’m light years behind on blogging. The good news is I was super busy seeing lots of my regular families and meeting loads of new families. The bad news is I haven’t had a chance to share all of these adorable kiddos on the blog. So without further adieu I give you tiny Will and his super chill, super hilarious parents. Will was just over a week old and we...

Sophia's Debut
If you move just a little way down the blog you’ll find Jennifer and Philipp’s Maternity session. Pregnant no more, little Sophia is here and simply perfect.

Emelia
I’m often asked to photograph the whole family (including pets) and I’ll happily oblige as long as the pets are willing to be photographed. Well little Emilia was a star and her “big brother” Milo shone right along with her. This was a house full of joy, and I felt lucky to be invited in.

Leela
This is my 3rd photo session with Leela and it’s hard to believe she’s already 6 months old. She is the happiest little girl - so cute in fact that I had to take breaks from shooting just so we could squeeze her and love her up. As an added bonus, we got these photos done just in time for Diwali!

Riley in Westport
I headed back to Westport, CT just before the weather turned cold to photograph Riley. This shoot was so fun - Riley was full of smiles and mom and dad were super laid back. We had a gorgeous evening. While I typically aim to do photographs in the morning (because that’s when kiddos are happiest), this was an early evening shoot, post nap, since that’s when the light on the beach was...

Aiden and Lexi
These white-blond beauties came to me through a shoot I donate each year to the Children of Bellevue Auction. Mom supplied the props and the kiddos brought the smiles.

The Steinhoff Boys
My sister-in-law is a fall fanatic, and one of her favorite days of the year is the day her family goes apple picking. This year she decided that rather than being behind the camera all day, she wanted to enjoy picking apples with her boys - so she flew me out to Minnesota to take the pictures for her. I love my nephews and we had a blast. Three bags of apples later, we also had a lot of apple...

Brooklyn Botanical Gardens
I’m always excited to do a shoot at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. No matter what season, the gardens are always a beautiful backdrop. I photographed Jasper and his parents on a gorgeous morning. Jasper had a great time running free and exploring, and because it was early we nearly had the whole place to ourselves.

Felix and Eli
Back when Eli was an only child I took photos to mark his 1 year. Now little brother Felix is just over a year and we did more photos to commemorate the big milestone, and to update their family photos. We took these photos in Brooklyn Heights and tried to highlight some of the charm of the neighborhood in the backdrop.

Spike
Honestly, doesn’t he just melt your heart with those sweet brown eyes and that great big smile? Spike is a buddy of my son and when his grandparents were coming to town and his mom asked me if I’d take photos I was really excited to capture their fun-loving family.

Lily
Little Lily with the huge smiles and the gorgeous red hair made this so fun. We started the shoot at her home and then moved over to Riverside Park. According to her parents, she was feeling a little “off” on the day of our shoot, but the way she was smiling you’d have never known. I can’t imagine how amazing she is when she’s feeling 100%!

Caroline's Baptism
Baptisms and Birthday Parties keep me busy throughout the year. Caroline’s baptism took place at the beautiful St. Bart’s Cathedral on the Upper East Side. It was a lovely event with loads of kids and lots of love.

Allegra and Winston
Well I might as well just admit that I took these photos over a month ago and I’m painfully behind on the blog, again. I met this beautiful family when Allegra was teeny tiny, so it’s such a joy to see them each year and document how much the family has grown! We took these photos in Central Park, up near 79th street.

Jennifer and Philipp
Maternity shoots are always great because there is so much love and excitement with a couple anticipating the arrival of their baby. Jennifer and Philipp were so fun and up for anything. We took some photos at their home in Battery Park before heading over to the waterfront.

Westport with Lilly and Patrick
I’ve been photographing Lilly and Patrick since they were each a few months old. This year we decided to switch things up and take a few photos at the beach. Beach shots mid day can be hard, since it’s so bright and the white sand is very reflective, but we found a little shady spot and got some great shots of this awesome group.

Off in Scarsdale
I travel quite a bit in the tri-state area for shoots, especially during peak season (which happens to be late summer through fall). I went out to Scarsdale, NY to see the Sorrel family again, and to marvel at how much their youngest, Olivia, had grown since my last trip out. They are such a sweet group, and Olivia is clearly the apple of everyone’s eye!

Jackson and Noah
I met this great family back when Jackson was a mere 3 months old. Now brother Noah is 1 and I traveled out to Jersey to capture their family once again. They are a sweet, smiley bunch and my job was just to be quick and not burn those smiles out! Also, check out their amazing cat!

Taylor
Well, as usual I’m way behind on the blog. No complaints here, because I fall behind when I’m busy, but little Taylor deserves her moment in the spotlight! At 2 weeks old she was just as perfect as perfect gets. She was sleepy and content, and she even let me gently place her amongst her collection of stuffed animals without so much as batting an eye.

Abby on Rachael Ray
You can see some of my sets with each child model’s segment, and get a quick glimpse of me around second 40 (you”ll hear me too).

Still a few seconds of fame left for me, but it was fun to be asked to participate in this, and I had a great time with the kids. Below is a photo still from the video of me...

Abby on the Rachael Ray Show
I shot a segment for the Rachael Ray Show that focuses on potty training. Although not my typical shoot, I’ll be featured photographing the various potty-trainees. Tune in Tuesday, Sept 13th to see me in action! It airs on ABC 7 at 10 am in NYC.

Sweet Sadie
You may remember Sadie’s newborn photos from a while back. Some things have changed - she’s grown so much and she’s sitting - but she remains smiley and sweet with beautiful blue eyes. We took these photos near her home at Riverside Park on the Upper West Side. It was a hot day, but we stayed in the shade and started nice and early so we were cool and...

New Photo Format
I have to apologize for the way my photos are now displayed. The host that I use for this blog used to do nifty slide shows of the images, but now they’ve switched to this collage of photos and it doesn’t allow me to choose how it’s cropping the images! Very annoying.
If you click on on of the collages the images will open in a sort of slide show, at which point you can click on...

Summer is here and moving fast!
Summer has been a whirlwind so far and I’m a little behind on the blog so I’ll try to do a few posts over the next several days to catch up on some of the shoots I’ve been doing. So many beautiful families, so little time!
